Minutes of the Public Awareness Committee

April 20th and 21st, Prasanthi Nilayam

 The meeting started with Omkaram .

Sub Committee members of 16 districts attended the meeting. Rest 8 district had no representations. The districts which did not represent were Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Khammam, Kadapa, Guntur, Warangal, Medak and Ranga Reddy.

The role of the sub-committee members were discussed in detail.

It was decided that in every district, the district President should nominate one sub-committee members to a minimum of 3-5 Samithis for effective planning, support and implementation of the PAC programs

The list of the sub-committee members of those districts which have not been furnished till date despite constant follow up is to be furnished by May 5st 2014. A request was made that only such members should be co-opted who have flair of these activities and have a good public relations perspective

The District Presidents are to immediately allocate the Samithis within their district to the sub- committee member and inform the details of the Samithis allotted to Sri D Vishnu Vardhan Rao, Coordinator, PAC by email  This email address is being protected from spambots. All District Presidents are to take utmost care in constituting the committee and giving the relevant importance to the PAC activity as these activities show case the glory, name and message of Our Beloved Bhagawan Baba

Once the Samithis allotment are done , these subcommittee members are to visit these Samithis and discussion the action plan of the PAC activities and inform the District President. The District President is in turn expected to prepare their Action plan by May 30th and submit it to the State President and the PAC Coordinator with all relevant details.

The activities that are being planned should be for a period of 6 months i.e., End of December 2014

The Sub Committee members are expected to visit their Samithis allotted at least once in a month WITHOUT FAIL.

The PAC activities for next half year will start by June 15th. 2014

The first midterm review of the activities will be done in the 1st week of October which will be intimated by the State President and the Coordinator, PAC.

It has been decided that the PAC Sub Committee will act as a life line or like that thread of a garland helping liaison all the committee activities

To support the above statement, it has been decided that all Samithi Convenors/ District Presidents shall be to the notice of the PAC Sub-committee member every program big or small for effective coverage and documentation. Likewise, post the conduct of an activity, a small video clip, a set of good photographs with a good write up has to be sent by the Sub Committee in charge to the PAC Coordinator for knowledge sharing of the activity so that it can be replicated in other districts.

It has been also proposed that a Sathya Sai Channel is floated in the YouTube and all these activities are uploaded for sake of posterity and sharing across to the World

The following were the decisions

  1. 1.Each District to conduct 2 seminars by DecemberThe topics could be decided as needed. It could be a half a day seminar or a full day seminar. If it is a half day, one breakfast + Tea break and before Lunch. Other way of doing it is to start at 10.30 am, give a working lunch (Pulichora + Curd Rice) and close before tea time in the evening. This activity is compulsorily to be done.
  2. 2.Discussions – This is optional. If you think the district has a capacity to doIt can take up otherwise we can plan in 2015
  3. 3.Workshops – Compulsory. One for students on Soft Skills.could be for Professionals ( RTC, Police, Electricity dept , Teachers etc)
  4. 4.Exhibitions – Compulsory: On Service activities, Swamis life and message, Namasmarana and Premajyothi . Balvikas will also conduct a parenting exhibition during a parenting workshop. Details of Exhibitions can be obtained from the Bal Vikas Coordinators / Spiritual Coordinators as they have all the details.
  5. 5.Book Stall – Optional –in the seminars/Symposium / Workshops/ Public Meetings if feasible
  6. 6.Public Meeting: Optional: Preferably on a festive day. Similar to Samarpan programme. Importance of the Festival by a well known personality
  7. 7.Sarva Dharma Stupa: Compulsory:  One stupa in every district by the 90th birthday of the divine Lord. An Emperor Like Asokha put up his Stupas all across the country. As devotees, it is our bounden duty to put up these Sathya Sai Sarva Dharma Stupas all across the Country is the Emperor of the Entire Mankind – The Lord of the Universe. Please see gramaseva.com for all details of cost and land requirement and letters needed to request land from the Government. it should be in a prominent place . Please avoid Mandirs. Likhita Namajapams to be clubbed with this activity as the nama japa books will be in the foundation of the stupa to send out positive feelings of Love and Service to all those who visit/see the stupa
  8. 8.Scrolling on TV – Optional. Contact Cable operators. Programs to be flashed. Swami messages should be flashed all through the year if possible.
  9. 9.Musical Tributes by Children/ BAL Vikas – Will bring back memories of childhood and bring in enthusiasm in devotees to rededicate themselves to the work of Sai. One program compulsory before December 2014. Please note exclusive Our Sai Organisation talent. Involve as many as possible. Group singing / group Instrumentalists. Please coordinate with Cultural and Bal Vikas Sub Committee members
  10. 10.On October 2nd – Please organize a Multi Faith Prayer. All religions prayers to be held by their respective spiritual leaders/ Priests. Have a talk on Unit of Religions and plan for a mega Narayana Seva as a culmination. Highly Bhagawan as the embodiment of all religions
  11. 11.Public Goodness display boards. Reach out to Municipal Corporation and Police and put it up. good thoughts with the emblem of Sarva Dharma Logo
  12. 12.Panel Discussions in Colleges – Optional – Topics on Youth , Country issues and solutions etc
  13. 13.Sathya Sai Puraskar – Compulsory – in your town, Mandal : Best Municipal worker, Best Traffic Policeman, Best Driver of RTC, Best Line Man … Think of public facing professions. A shawl and small cash purse. Call their entire family and showcase his contribution. Call a high end personality to award.

Please note that compulsory aspects should be planned by the Sub-committee members and put up to their District Presidents and action plan sent to the SP and PAC Coordinator by the stipulated date mentioned above without fail.

The Central Coordinating team assured the district representatives of all support in planning and Speakers support if asked for.

The Committee thanked Bhagawan for giving them all an opportunity for being a part in the Divine Holy Mission of Sai.
