Navratri Celebrations-2017-Saroornagar

Sairam, The Navaratri festival signifies the victory of good over evil and  is celebrated  by worshipping nine different forms of Goddess Durga. As  part of Navratri celebrations 2017, devotees at Sri Sathya Sai Seva Sudha, Saroornagar had the opportunity of having darshan of the different alankaras of Durga Maa.

Day 1 of Navratri commenced with the Kalasha sthapana and  Swarna Kavacha Durga Devi form of Goddess Durga, on the 2nd  day,  Bala Tripura Sundari  was worshipped.

3rd and 4th day of Navaratri- Goddess Durga gave darshan in the form of Gayathri Devi who is the Veda Mata and Annapurna Devi the Goddess of food, respectively.

5th and 6th day – The Goddess was worshipped as Lalita Tripura Sundari, the Goddess who represents the Pancha Bhutas or the five elements of  the universe and Lakshmi Devi, the bestower of wealth.

7th and 8th day- Devotees worshipped Saraswathi Devi, the bestower of intelligence and  Durga Mata, who confers energy on us.

9th day-  Devi was decorated as Mahishasuramardini, the fierce form of Mother Durga . Ladies from all the units of Saroornagar Samithi performed Laksha Kumkuma Archana and in the evening the Bathukamma festival which worships Maha Gauri as the ‘Giver of Life’ was celebrated.

On the day of Vijaya Dasami , Abhishekam was performed to Shiridi Sai Baba . On this holy day Durga devi gave Darshan as Sri Raja Rajeshwari. In the evening, the Sami puja took place. The celebrations came to an end with the Dhoop (Evening) Harathi to Shiridi Sai Baba.
